An Indian summer has definitely arrived at last at the Richmond Bruce’s Dog Walking and Day Care Centre. Just when we thought we would have to get the waterproofs out and start getting the heaters ready inside the cosy indoor area, the “summer” arrives! The dogs and their Richmond dog walkers have had a great week, going for long walks in the warm sunshine and having endless fun playing and splashing in the swimming pools.
Dare I say it has been a little too warm but at the day care centre we are equipped for all weather. Each morning after picking up the dogs from Richmond, we set up the gazebos, so there is enough shade for the dogs to relax. Throughout the day the dogs have clean water put out, so they always have fresh cool water to drink. Then we set off on a lovely long morning walk. The grass is still wet from the morning dew and the Richmond dogs have so much fun bounding around and exploring in the six acres of securely fenced farmlands. At this stage in the day the dogs all still have loads of energy and they are able to run and play till their heart content.
The afternoons have been a bit more relaxed, as the Richmond dogs are tired from a busy day. After a refreshing swim, they all love to have a good old roll on the grass and then its afternoon nap time. The dogs all find a cool spot to lie down, either inside the indoor area on the comfy raised beds or outside on the cool shady grass. The Richmond dog walkers love this time of day as the dogs all love to come and sit on their laps and get a cuddle. Even the bigger dogs get their turn albeit they sometimes they dont fit on laps:)
