I’m sure most of you watched the Britain’s Got Talent final over the weekend. We were all so excited when Ashleigh and Pudsey took the title after their phenomenal final performance! Their Mission Impossible routine was amazing and you can really see that Pudsey not only adores his owner, but loves performing too! When BBC Radio One later interviewed her, she said she is so looking forward to performing at the Royal Variety Show in front if the Queen. She also said on spending her £500,000 prize money that Pudsey will definitely get a new lead and anything he wishes for. She is a very deserving winner and they are both real stars in our eyes:)

All the Barnes dog walkers agreed at the Bruce’s dog walking and doggy day care centre that there is nothing more important than having a secure and loving bond between you and your dog. The Barnes dog walkers all have a very special bond with each of the dogs they pick up and its very important for the dogs to not only feel comfortable with their dog walker but to also trust them. The Barnes dog walkers always take that little bit longer if a new dog is shy or a little unsure and usually by the end of the day, the dog is running around full of confidence and having a great time.

Bruce’s Dog Walking offers a Barnes dog walking and Barnes doggy day care service to clients based in Barnes, London and Surrey. Bruce’s Dog Walking operates a full doggy day care centre, with acres of outdoor play areas, swimming pools, an agility course and indoor areas with dog beds for relaxing. Check out the videos in the gallery to see how much fun the dogs have!

We have very kindly been donated a free standing bath by one of our clients and the Barnes dog walkers are very happy to report it works like a charm:) We have put it on a lovely grassy patch and attached the feet, filled it up and waited to try it out. The dogs were all very curious, some however knew exactly what it was and were trying to jump in straight away. It is prefect for the smaller dogs, as its usually just their bellies that get a little muddy. The bigger dogs do take a little more encouragment but once in, the mud soon washed off and they are ready to go home spick and span!

Luckily this week for the Barnes dog walkers and dogs the weather seems to be improving slightly and the rain has stopped for a while. There is still however lots of puddles for the dogs to play in and I’m sure we will still get lots of use out of our new bath.

The stream at the centre is also properly flowing too:) The Barnes dog walkers take a few dogs at a time to play and have a swim in the stream. Usually the first thing the dogs do is run around and find the biggest stick they can find and then start a tug-o-war with another dogs near by. Lots of fun and games and we make sure that all the dogs get a turn, even if it means they have to stay on the lead:)

Bruce’s Dog Walking operates a full doggy day care centre, with acres of outdoor play areas, swimming pools, an agility course and indoor areas with dog beds for relaxing.

This week a particularly famous dog has been on the lips of all our Barnes dog walkers. Uggie the dog from the hit film The Artist, is going to be releasing his memoirs in the shape of a written book this October! How is he going to do this you might ask as he is quite obviously missing opposable thumbs and the ability to write? His book will be transcribed by biographer Wendy Holden. Uggie had quite a turbulent upbringing as he was re-homed numerous times and then luckily was adopted by Omar von Muller, a dog trainer. So he should have a great story to “tell”!

This got all us Barnes dog walkers thinking, what if dogs could talk? All the stories from the Barnes Doggy day care centre and funny things they would come up with:) What time the postman came and all the neighbourhood gossip too. However, we all decided after much discussion, even though it would be great to hear all their stories and adventures. Sometimes just having them there to listen is the greatest thing of all about having a dog:)

It was been a very wet few days this past week for the Barnes dog walkers and Barnes dogs at the Surrey doggie day care centre. The Barnes dog walkers have all been getting kitted up each morning in waterproofs and wellies. It really is a doggie paradise and all the dogs are always eagerly awaiting their Barnes walker when they are picked up in the morning. Its a real doggie dream to be able to run and play to their hearts content outside in the fresh air with all their friends. It certainly beats being stuck inside all day!! The owners are always happy to see their muddy pooch home after a full day of fun and after a quick once over with a soft fuffy towel they are all usually back to their old colour and welcomed back into the owners arms:)

We have been trying to think a solution so the dogs are less muddy when we drop them home and Paul, one of our Barnes dog walkers have come up with a fab idea. If we get an old free standing bath we can fill it up and make the dogs all go though it on the way home. Then it would be a quick rub down and straight into the van, where it was warm and dry for the trip home. Great idea!!! We only need to now source an old bath and we are A for Away:)

I’m sure most of you have looked out your window this week and thought ” do I really have to go outside”? The weather has really turned into the usual April showers that we expect each year, not that we are complaining, we need all the rain we can get! The dogs on the other hand look outside and see muddy puddles and lovely wet grass to roll around in. Its days like today that make the Barnes dog walkers, really appreciate the smaller things in life:) There really is nothing better than seeing the dogs playing together and enjoying every minute of it. The dogs all love the rainy days and their little eyes light up when we pick then up in the morning, to take them out for the day:)

The Barnes dog walkers and dogs, usual morning walk is a little longer as the dogs all seem to want to have a dig and roll around in the wet grass. Not failing to mention all the muddy puddles that the dogs all love splishing and splashing around in. By the end of the day the dogs are all a shade of brown darker then when they first arrived. The Barnes dog walkers do make sure the dogs are all towelled off and left spick and span when we drop them home in the afternoon.

I hope everyone had a lovely break over the Easter long weekend. The Barnes dogs were all well rested and ready to start another fun week with all their friends and Barnes dog walker on Tuesday morning. The dogs all know the routine down to a tee and they all coming barking very excitedly through the gates into the five acres of private securely fences farmland as dash off to run and play together. This week all the Barnes dog walkers have been talking about Ashleigh and Pudsey the talent duo from Britain’s got talent that aired over the weekend. They did an amazing dance to the Flintstones and it really won the judges as well as all of us over! Here is the link of you would like to see their amazing performance:)

It got us all thinking about the summer and what agility and other activities we could do with the dogs on those lovely hot summer days. All the Barnes dog walkers are very keen to try their hand at a using different agility equipment and getting the dogs to try some fun new activities:) Bruce’s first thought is always a seesaw and get to the dog to run up and over the other side. I would love to get more jumps and really set up a whole course, even though the Barnes dog walkers end up jumping over more jumps than dogs. That is the fun of it however and as they say practice makes perfect.

We will keep you posted and definitely put pictures and videos up on Facebook and Twitter of all our fun and adventures with the dogs:)

This week is a short week for dogs and Barnes dog walkers at the Surrey doggie day care centre. The dogs have all been making the most of the lovely weather and running around and swimming with all their friends. The dogs have over five acres of securely fenced farmland to play in and the centre is located right in the surrey green belt so its a little piece of heaven for the Barnes dogs and their Barnes dog walker:)

Right in the middle of the centre between our two fields is a lovely trickling stream and the dogs and their Barnes dog walkers all have noticed that we have our very own ducks who swim up and down and keep the dogs entertained for hours. The ducks dont seem to care about the dogs all looking at them and they all carry on swimming or waddling around the pond going about their business. All the Spaniels and even the Labradors instincts kick in and they all race up and down keeping a very close eye on the ducks.

The dogs all luckily get distracted easily and the lure of going for an adventurous walk soon captures their attention away. The dogs never tire of sniffing out all the rabbit holes and trying to dig their way to china. The field is littered with little holes that the dogs have all dug as a group effort. The dogs and their dog walker have all really been enjoying the sunny days and often afternoons are spent sitting on the soft grass and getting their tummies scratched, the dogs tummies that is:)

Plus puppy season has started again and we have had a couple of the cuttest little puppies from Barnes start. Their first day at the centre is always magic as they take the first new steps to becoming a more social and well rounded dog. The other dogs love it when a new little puppy starts too, they all come over and say hi and make the puppy feel more at home:)

Puppy socialisation is a key phase when bringing up a puppy. The doggie day care centre is an ideal place for a pup to learn to be around other dogs as well as have to opportunity to play and be around other puppies their own age. We try and keep their routine exactly as it at home and feed the puppies at a set time each day, so they stay in their routine. The owners then have the peace of mind knowing that their puppy is in safe hands during the day.

Bruce’s Dog Walking offers a Barnes dog walking and Barnes doggy day care service to clients based in Barnes,Richmond, Chiswick, Wandsworth, Clapham and Surrey. Bruce’s Dog Walking operates a full doggy day care centre, with acres of outdoor play areas, swimming pools, an agility course and indoor areas with dog beds for relaxing.

This week the warmer weather has been on the lips of all the Barnes dog walkers at the Surrey doggie day care centre. Today was the first real sunny day and we decided not waste one minute of it too. First things first we waited for all the dogs to arrive in the morning from Clapham, Wandsworth, Richmond, Barnes, Weybridge, Cobham and Esher. They all jump straight out the van and wait excitedly to be let into the two five acre fields to start running around and playing with all their other doggie friends as well as their Barnes dog walker too:)

The Barnes dog walkers decided that today was the perfect day to clean out the pools and let the dogs all play in the water. Its not the nicest of jobs as the water is still a little on the chilly side but the dogs love it. Especially when we unroll the hose pipe, they all race over to the other

Molly finding something very interesting in her newly dug hole

end and wait for the water to splash out! Getting the dirty water out the pool is quite a mission and we generally use buckets and put the water over all the dry patches of grass, so no water gets wasted. The dogs all think its the biggest game they all stand around waiting for us to pour the water out, so we do indulge them and let the water splash around them.

Then once it is all clean, we put the steps back inside and wait for the pool to fill up again. Some of the dogs especially the Labradors and Retrievers cannot wait and they all jump in for a sneaky swim in the shallow water:) So keep them busy the other Barnes dog walkers take them all off on a long adventurous walk to keep them busy until the pool is ready to swim in. They are all soon distraced by all the interesting smells and often we will find them with their heads down a hole digging. Ah its a dogs life

It has been a while since we blogged about our Surrey Doggie day Care Centre. These past weeks have been filled playing with the dogs who love coming to spend the day with us, there is always something new and exciting to do and it really is a dog’s paradise! With spring on it way and the weather slowly getting warmer, the dogs have rediscovered the swimming pool. They all love getting in and having a good splash around and and then out to dry off in the sun. It certainly makes a nice change for the keen beans not to have to break through the ice to have a swim!

We have also been teaching our two new drivers, Paul and Gary. Paul is driving our Clapham route and also picking up dogs in Cobham and Weybridge. He is great with the dogs and they all love him to bits already. Paul also brings along his own dog (a labrador called Cody) to the centre. We think Cody must be loving her owner’s new job!

Gary is driving our Wandsworth route, and also picking up the half day dogs in Oxhsott and Esher. Gary is a natural dog lover, and the dogs have taken to him as though he’s been with us for years. This is always a good sign, because the dogs are a great judge of character!

Learning all the dogs names is usually the greatest challenge but both Paul and Gary have taken it in their stride and have the dogs names all down pat already:) We have been geting great feedback from all the London and Weybridge clients and its great having someone like Paul and Gary who love the dogs like each one was his very own. As well, they have great attention to detail and know the needs and likes of each one of their dogs. They also enjoy chatting to the clients and telling them all about their dog’s day at the doggy day care centre.

Bruce’s Dog Walking offers a Surrey dog walking and London doggy day care service to clients based in Richmond, Clapham and Wandsworth. Bruce’s Dog Walking operates a full doggy day care centre, with acres of outdoor play areas, swimming pools, an agility course and indoor areas with dog beds for relaxing. Check out the videos in the gallery to see how much fun the dogs have!

Dog Walking areas covered in London include: Balham, Barnes, Clapham, Chiswick, Battersea, East Sheen, Kew, Mortlake, Richmond, South Acton, Tooting, Wandsworth, Barnes. Dog walking areas covered in Surrey include: Cobham, Oxshott, Weybridge and Esher.
